And the winners are . . .

After careful consideration ChangeMakers Hawaiʻi has selected the recipients of our Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea Pay-It-Forward project.

1.    ʻO Makuʻu Ke Kahua Community Center is dedicated to providing a healthy, sustainable and thriving environment within the Puna community, while fostering Native Hawaiian Culture.

2.    Kū Ānuenue is a budding community organization in Hilo committed to building a community of care and belonging for māhū and queer people from keiki to kūpuna, and their families and caregivers.

These two nonprofit organizations that have been selected to receive more than 1000 hours fundraising support, worth $75,000, to help them achieve their vital fundraising goals.

“We’re honored to announce the recipients of this year's Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea Pay-It-Forward project, Kū Ānuenue and ʻO Makuʻu Ke Kahua Community Center,” said Olani Lilly, Founder of Changemakers Hawai'i.

“These organizations embody the spirit of positive change and dedication to our local community. We believe that by supporting these two exceptional organizations, they will create a brighter future for the people of Hawai'i and the communities they serve.”

WHAT IS CHANGEMAKERS HAWAIʻI’S LĀ HOʻIHOʻI EA PAY-IT-FORWARD PROJECT?

It’s the community service piece of its RaisingChange Philanthropono program. The program provides free tuition for fundraising certification from Boston University. As a requirement after completing the certification program, participants volunteer 90 hours at a Native Hawaiian or under-funded organization to provide fundraising support.

WHAT EXACTLY WILL THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE?

The $75,000 worth of fundraising support will be provided in various forms, including grant and capital campaign assistance, mentorship and access to ChangeMakers Hawaiʻi’s extensive network of philanthropic supporters. This holistic approach ensures that the selected nonprofits receive the comprehensive support they need to successfully achieve their fundraising goals.
