So Much To Be Thankful For

Not just during the holidays, but every day ChangeMakers is thankful for our blessings and challenges.  Yup, our challenges too.   ChangeMakers has so much to be thankful for.  A committed board, amazing volunteers, and the start-up of two of ChangeMakers programs, Eve-conomics Women’s Financial Empowerment Program and ChangeBuilders Community Facility Development Program.

This week ChangeMaker’s Eve-conomics Women’s Financial Empowerment Program was awarded two grants from the East Hawai’i Fund and the Hartwell & Rebecca Carter Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation.  These funds will allow us to grow our community of women who are making positive and empowering financial moves not just for themselves but for their future generations.

The name Eve-conomics highlights one of the most infamous women in the world, Eve of the Garden of Eden.  Eve knew better but didn’t do better, and isn’t that just like us.  Many of us don’t even “Know better,” so we make terrible mistakes that can lead to financial and life hardship. Women’s decisions and actions have a generational impact, building and supporting our individual financial growth, we can change the narrative of our families and community’s economic and financial health through us and our seed of sound decisions and actions.

ChangeMakers is thankful for our volunteers, current Eve-conomics Ladies, and Hawai’i Community Foundation for helping us to grow women’s financial health and empowerment.  The next Eve-conomics Cohort will begin in January 2022.
