Hello, My Name Is…

We are ChangeMakers Community Economic Development Corporation.  We are a newly formed nonprofit organization located on Hawai'i island.  When I say "We" I mean the three of us, Lopaka, Kukuipahu, and Olani.  As we wait for our IRS Determination Letter we decided to reach out to potential partners and introduce our mission and some program areas we are developing.  In the last nine months, we have worked with three community groups and are going to be launching an exciting working group in August.  We hope to keep you informed of our progress and look for ways that we could partner to meet the needs of our community.

Our Why

"… Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me" (Matthew 25:34–36).

We believe that God has shown us mercy and grace, therefore making sure our neighbors have food, drink, clothes, care, and grace is the least we can give back for what God has given to us. We give back by providing the skills and opportunities for individuals, families, and communities to provide for themselves and then serve those around them.

Our Mission - Yup it's bold...but we believe a BOLD calling is a fertile ground for miracles.

Committed to ending poverty by supporting community-driven economic development initiatives. We accomplish this by supporting community development and economic development strategies.

Community Change

Our community development focus is on providing community facility development, infrastructure support, nonprofit training including fund development training and certification.

Economic Change

Our economic development work focuses on nonprofit and agri-business training, start-up business support, Financial Training & Assistance, and career creation. In order to create a strong economic future, we also provide a youth social enterprise program.

Change in the Middle

Change in the middle work is focused on supporting the large percentage of Hawai'i families that are officially not living below or at poverty levels but who are still struggling to make ends meet in Hawai'i. We work with these individuals to start Side Hustle/ Other means of income development for Middle Incomers.
