Christian McAdams is the Executive Director of ChangeMakers Hawaiʻi, where he leads a mission-driven organization dedicated to advancing economic equity, community resilience, and systemic change across the islands. In this role, Christian sets strategic direction, cultivates partnerships, and champions local capacity-building efforts that empower underserved communities through workforce development, entrepreneurship, and access to capital.
Previously serving as the Director of Economic Strategy and Development, Christian was instrumental in launching and expanding key programs that support small businesses, nonprofits, and emerging ʻĀinapreneurs. His work integrates cultural integrity with economic innovation, aligning people, place, and purpose in pursuit of a more just and thriving Hawaiʻi.
With over 15 years of experience spanning finance, entrepreneurship, and public service, Christian brings deep expertise in financial planning, program development, and policy advocacy. His leadership is grounded in both rigorous analysis and a heartfelt commitment to community transformation.
Christian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics from Hawaiʻi Pacific University, a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Finance from Cornell University, and several professional credentials. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Economic Development.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and lifelong learner, Christian has also served as a Contract Specialist, taught personal finance through his own small business, and worked in credit union member services, always centering financial empowerment as a pathway to equity. Today, he continues to blend pragmatic leadership with visionary purpose—building the infrastructure, trust, and relationships necessary for Hawaiʻi’s communities to thrive.
